Press ? anywhere in the editor, or use the Shortcuts button on the bar. It's hidden on phones, where there are no keys to press.

Why does the flat key look odd?

Flat is the underscore _ and rest is the hyphen -. They're easy to mix up; if you get a rest where you wanted a flat, that's why.

DomiSol is built to be typed. A phrase is a word you type, not a series of clicks — most of the speed is in this table.

The two worth memorising are _ and -. Flat is the underscore, rest is the hyphen. If you get a rest where you wanted a flat, that’s the mix-up.

Whether a pitch key replaces the note at the cursor or inserts a new one after it is set by Typing on the Note tab, not by a shortcut — see Notes, rhythm and rests. It has no key of its own on purpose: a mode a stray keystroke could flip would be worse than no mode at all. Enter and ⇧+Enter above work the same way in both modes.

Set the duration first; it sticks until you change it.

Pitch and octave

↑/↓ moves by scale step, not semitone, so 4 becomes 5. With ⌘/Ctrl+A first, it shifts the whole piece — a quick way to try a melody higher for your sopranos.

On a phone

There are no shortcuts on a touch device — the pitch keyboard along the bottom does the same work, and the Shortcuts button is hidden there because it would only take up room. The tools panel’s tabs cover durations, accidentals and octaves.
