ManualHow to use DomiSol.
Everything the editor can do, in the order you'll need it — from your first note to sharing a score with your choir.
Getting started
- The first screen: your first score What a new account sees first, on a phone, a computer and in the app: a note from the person who builds DomiSol, and one tap to a first score.
- Your first score Open DomiSol, write a few notes, and hear them back — the whole loop in about two minutes, on a phone or a laptop.
- Your plan, and cancelling a subscription Where your plan shows, how to change your card or cancel a subscription bought on the web or in the app, and what deleting your account needs first.
- The 7-day Pass, Lifetime, Pro and page packs What each paid option unlocks and costs, and where DomiSol offers it: the 7-day Pass for one job, Lifetime for good, Pro for every week, and pages on their own.
Writing music
- Notes, rhythm and rests How note entry works in DomiSol: pitches, durations, dots and ties, rests, octaves, and the keyboard shortcuts that make it fast.
- Solfa, jianpu and the key One score, two notations. How the d r m / 1 2 3 toggle works, what movable do means in practice, and how to change key without rewriting.
- Lyrics and SATB parts Add words under the notes, build a four-part choral score, and keep every voice aligned bar for bar as you edit.
- Upbeats and breathing Write a hymn that starts before the first full bar, and mark where your choir breathes — the Upbeat setting, breath marks, and slurs.
- Repeats, endings and D.S. Send the singers back to the verse: repeat barlines, a 2x or 3x play count, 1st and 2nd endings, and D.C./D.S./Fine — all of which playback obeys.
- Guzheng marks: fingering and technique Enter 顫音, 滑音, 泛音 and the rest on a jianpu score: turn on the Chinese notation template, then use the Marks tab. Every glyph, and what it sounds like.
Sharing & export
- Sharing and exporting Send a link that needs no account, print a solfa or jianpu PDF, send an MP3 they can just play, embed a score in a site, or export MIDI for a DAW.
- Hymnbooks Collect songs into a running order with a cover and a contents page, and print the whole thing as one PDF or one Word document.
AI features
- The AI features Harmonize a melody, transpose, suggest chords, restyle a piece, or ask for help — what each one does, and what it costs you.
- Warm-ups Describe a warm-up or pick a preset, and get a solfa or jianpu score that repeats with a key change at every step, syllables under every note.
- Photos, files and recordings Already have the music? Turn a hymnbook photo, a MusicXML or MIDI file, or your own singing into an editable DomiSol score, or open a DomiSol backup again.
- Checking a photo import against the page After a photo becomes a score, a short review sits above it. What to check first, how to fix the key, and why DomiSol asks before you leave.
Reference
- Keyboard shortcuts The full list. DomiSol is much faster from the keyboard — pitches, durations, octaves, playback and editing all have single keys.
- When something looks wrong The behaviours that surprise people most — split notes, locked bars, a delete that leaves a rest — and why each one is deliberate.
Learning the notation itself?
This manual covers the editor. For how tonic solfa and jianpu work — movable do, octave marks, rhythm, hand signs — the notation guides are the place to start.
